Became an anthropologist specializing in the life course, Asian cultures, cultural identities. Taught in the School of Ed at Harvard, married a Taiwanese woman and divorced, but not before having two kids, a girl and a boy. Deaned at an independent secondary school in Arizona, moved to California. Both my kids currently live near me in the San Francisco Bay Area. Neither are married.

I remarried in 2017 to Mimi, from whom I take regular lessons in how to settle for nothing less than true intimacy and love.

Retired in 2018 from teaching at a Cal State University. Now enjoying free time. Also trained as a conflict mediator and doing that too. Finding peace one day at a time.
