Having lived in Huntingdon, PA, for now over 30 years, I can say how much I love living in the country. Teaching community-engaged learning in languages and cultures (a program called Language in Motion), linguistics, and composition at Juniata College, a small liberal arts institution, has been and continues to be rewarding. I am involved in many initiatives and service opportunities on campus and in my community, especially in AAUW, an organization promoting equity for women and girls.
My husband, a Juniata professor of Russian, International Studies, and now ethics, and our two sons are very much into soccer, so that has been a large part of our lives. Now our sons live in DC. Our older son is a whistleblower lawyer and is married to a wonderful woman, an employment lawyer. They have two daughters, who are creative, kind, and clever. Our other son, unmarried, works on climate change modeling and energy.
In addition to soccer, our family likes to read, walk, and travel, and overall we have been very fortunate. My mother, who, at 93, remembers many members of the HMHS class of 1969, sends her regards.
